Yarn is a special story I created for my senior project in college. This idea was originally made as a stop motion animation where I combined 2D and Stop Motion elements. I decided to rework my story and recreate it for a 2D short (It could also be worked as a 3D project later on) This project is currently in it’s third reworking of artwork. This page has a mixture of art from the past 3 years. I am continually updating this project when I have spare time away from professional work. The story is about a family who is moving out of their home. Their cat Merlin is very curious and he spots a box of yarn the owner drops on the ground. He decides to jump in that box and is transported into a world made out of yarn. The trees, grass, plants, rocks, etc are made from a wide variety of yarn textures. Merlin explores this new land and stumbles across a Yarn Monster that chases him into a corner. We later come to find that this Yarn Monster is just his owner pulling him from the box. This is just a fun story about a cats crazy imagination.
